This e-mail was sent to the board of the NCHR on October 4, 2000, at 12:55. It is published here with the special consent of the writer, Michele Cave.

My name is Michele Cave. My home phone number is 201-943-7731 or @ work
201-270-1000 ext. 07143. I am a working mother of 3 children. I have full
legal and physical custody of my oldest son David, who is 16. I have a 8 year
old daughter who is not a litigant in this case. After having been given full
custody of my oldest son, they court apparently feels I am not capable of
caring for my youngest who is now 4 years old and still in foster care and
which the foster mother wants to adopt.

I am in an ongoing battle with DYFS in Essex County Court fighting for my
parental rights not to be taken for me. I am gainfully employed at this time
by, AT&T Wireless Services.

I would like very much for someone from your organization to contact me
regarding my situation. I do not feel I would be able to adequately give you
an overview of the violation I am faced with via e-mail, at this time. I am
not looking for sympathy or legal assistance. I would like just to include my
case on record to assist in compiling additional case histories and assist in
this cause. I strongly would like to fight with you and similar groups
united in this matter, and not to allow continued injustices such as these,
as in my case, to continue!

Please contact me, to allow me to share my story.

Your truly,
Michele Cave
